WINTER VEGETABLES HARVEST

winter is a time to go out into your garden and grow some wonderful cool season crops this is what we will be seeing in the video today so here are some of the winter veggies that are growing in the garden right now and I will try to cover the growing tips for these veggies in a different video so as you can see we have cabbage we have broccoli that savoy cabbage some onions and garlic in between that's another broccoli plant all of these are cool season crops which grow really well through late fall and winter and what I'm going to show you in the video today is the harvest are some of these veggies so this is a broccoli that's growing this was planted from the seed packet as shown on the screen organic broccoli and as you can see it has a really nice big head that is ready for harvest so we'll go ahead and harvest that one it's pretty good free of any insects or diseases there's another broccoli growing right there and that also looks pretty good you can see the the fresh dew drops on the winter veggies now if you look at this broccoli plant it's a little different it's the same seeds but the way the plant has grown is a little different but it's still as nutritious and healthy and delicious so that's how a broccoli head looks like packed with nutrients a really good vegetable to grow and eat and once you chopped off the top you can see that there's one broccoli floret growing there's another one right there so you can get many more florets growing even after you harvest your broccoli and the next vegetable we will be harvesting today is called called Robbie God Robbie's are very interesting and delicious vegetable to grow and I'll probably cover growing it in a separate video we'll be harvesting this from a container as you can see here this is a 16 inch high 16 inch wide container one of my favourite container sizes for growing veggies and you can grow about 2 or 3 core Robby's in the container of this size so we'll go ahead and harvest this one it looks pretty good as well again knowing signs of insects or diseases winter veggies are great to grow in the winter season so that way you can grow crops throughout the year you don't have to really wait inside your home during winters so the final harvest that we're gonna see today is the savoy cabbage the savoy cabbage is a nice leafy cabbage that looks a little greener than yellow compared to the other cabbages and for some reason slugs seem to love this cabbage and that's a pretty good looking cabbage head so when harvesting you need to remove all the leaves that are around it except for the head of the cabbage which is what we are doing right now and taste wise I think the savoy cabbage is one of the most delicious tasting cabbages I've ever eaten these are some more savoy cabbage is harvested and again they are great and taste and they're very easy to grow so I highly recommend that you try out growing this variety of cabbage in your garden so that was a winter harvest I'll see you again soon until then happy gardening
