GROWING CHILE DE ARBOL, A SPICY MEXICAN PEPPER VARIETY

Chile De Arbol is a Mexican pepper variety That is known for its great flavor and hot, small chillies Chile De Arbol start out as all green peppers And when they mature, they turn into a red color This chilli pepper can be used both as fresh, chopped in a lot of dishes And it can also be used as a dried powder This pepper is slightly related to the Cayenne Pepper Its heat is about the same However I found that due to the size of these peppers They actually seem to be a little hotter than Cayenne Peppers So let's go ahead and do our first harvest As you can see these are small chilli peppers However don't let the size make you think That its not a productive plant This plant is very prolific It has a large number of peppers by the end of the growing season Now you might start off with less peppers However as the plant grows bigger And remember that this is a very bushy plant I have not pruned this plant at all It is just naturally very bushy And produces a lot of peppers throughout the growing season Now the growing tips for Chile De Arbol Is pretty much like any other Chilli Pepper They need to have constant moisture throughout the growing season They need to be fertilized well Remember that peppers and tomatoes are heavy feeders So you need to feed them with a nice, balanced fertilizer Throughout the growing season And just like any other pepper This also loves Epsom Salt So regularly bathe your peppers With Epsom salt solution Every month or you can even do it at about month and a half During the growing season Now some of you had asked me about how much Epsom salt Do I mix Or how do you efficiently use Epsom salt So this is what I do I put about 2 tbsp of Epsom salt in my watering can which is 2 gallons And I nicely drench the plant All the way down to the roots And just like with any other pepper plant As long as you keep harvesting your peppers The plant is going to keep producing more and more peppers Now with Chile De Arbol I noticed that the peppers are formed in clusters So you're going to have a lot of peppers Always available for you to harvest SO I encourage you to keep harvesting You can see just in a few days I've had a lot of peppers grow On this plant again So as long as you keep harvesting The plant will keep producing And all peppers are perennial Including this one And the way this plant is growing I would really like to grow this for at least another season So I will let you know how that goes I'm going to let this sit thru the winter season And on to the next year So let's now look at a mega harvest This is harvesting all the peppers from this Chile De Arbol Pepper plant As you can see You will have a lot of peppers at any given time
